- One of the North-Central's leading facilities moves to new quarters and calls on Genelec for the industry's leading reference system for surround and stereo monitoring - Haggar Audio Productions, a leading producer and post production facility for regional and national television, radio commercials and broadcast documentaries, has moved to a new two-studio post facility in Madison, Wisconsin and has chosen Genelec to be its monitoring system throughout. The Dolby Pro-Logic-capable Studio A at Haggar Audio Productions features matrixed and discrete surround monitoring and mixing services via a pair of Genelec 1038A speakers for L-R monitoring and a Genelec 1038AC speaker for the center channel, all mounted in a soffited L-C-R array. A pair of Genelec 1032A speakers are positioned on Omnimount gimbals for the rear surround channels. Studio B features a pair of Genelec 1038A speakers for full-range stereo monitoring. Haggar Audio Productions, which celebrated its 15th year of operation this past year, moved into the new facilities, designed by Redondo Beach-based designer Ken Goerres, in August. Located in the Morgan Murphy Media Park, housing a CBS network television affiliate, a cable television station, the Murphy Entertainment Group Programming company, and video post company MEG Post, Haggar Audio Productions has emerged as a leader in audio post production in the area. In addition to a prestigious client list which includes cable channels Bravo and The Discovery Channel, Haggar Audio Productions also has several post clients including National Geographic, for which they are currently doing audio post production for the upcoming 'Wildlife Detectives' series. Haggar Audio Productions President, Rob Haggar, says the choice to use Genelec speakers throughout the facility was based on their capability to provide a self-powered monitoring solution for the current landscape of matrixed multichannel broadcast audio and their ability to enable his company to be ready when multichannel broadcast audio goes fully discrete.
