Preliminary information on 3DPanner Studio unveiled

3DPanner Studio is a one of two products previously announced as 3DPanner Pro. This plugin adds a powerful 3D Positioning Audio mixing engine to any audio host that supports VST or DX plugins allowing to position all tracks within a single window. The second product called 3DPanner Motion Effects is designed to create 3D audio motion effects and will be available later in 2001.

There are three features that differ 3DPanner Studio from its predecessor, 3DPanner Lite:

Full 3D positioning, x,y, elevation
Switchable HRTF sets. (By default, the product comes with a 4MB set from CIAIR Nagoya University)
Single window for positioning

The latter is the most interesting feature. It means that there is a special window called "Pad" that contains track icons that correspond to all plugin inserts used in a host application you run. So you can arrange all your instruments in 3d space within one window. To differ track icons within the pad window there are: icon selection, track color and label selection.

The product interface is easy to use and provides a set of helpful enhancements such as:

Keyboard shortcuts
Saving/Loading track arrangements
Switchable hrtfs lengths for performance tuning
View Sets to ease the work with multiple tracks
Selecting custom font for labels which allows name tracks in a native language
