Any easy way to explain how to tune to drop d. . . . Im fairly new at this so I was hoping for an easy way to understand it. . . . . Thanks

To tune half-step down:
Assuming you're in standard eadgbe tuning, tune each string down one semitone. i.e. tune the 6th string to d#, the 5th string to g# (instead of a), 4th string to c# and so on till the tuning is d#,g#,c#,f#,a#,d# instead of e,a,d,g,b,e
That's it.
For one whole step down just tune each string down a further semitone, which will be d,g,c,f,a,d

Using an electronic tuner (digital or analog), place your finger on the first fret, or use a capo. Then use the tuner the normal way. This will flatten the tuning by one half step.
