Ernie Ball Wins Best Exhibit from MMR for 60s-Theme NAMM BoothErnie Ball recently won Music Merchandise Review (MMR) Magazine’s informal "Best of Show" award in the Best Exhibit Category for its fun and creative 1960s-theme booth at the NAMM music show in January. Last year Ernie Ball also captured the attention of the magazine, winning Best of Show in 2000 for their "Elvis in Las Vegas" and "Marilyn Monroe" costumes.MMR does an informal poll at each show among its editorial and advertising staff, voting on everything from the worst to the best of the show in a variety of categories. It was a unanimous vote for the Ernie Ball booth for the Best Exhibit theme. "Ernie Ball makes it fun and we look forward to seeing what they’ll do each year," said Don Johnson, editor of MMR. " If you can remember the 60’s you weren’t really there, but the Ernie Ball exhibit certainly evoked the era. They did a terrific job with the Volkswagen bus and peace sign and all the other special effects." "We really want to thank MMR," exclaimed Sterling Ball, president of Ernie Ball. "We know it’s an informal, tongue–in-cheek award, but it’s nice to be recognized. Our art department, under the direction of Dan Norton, puts a lot effort into our booth each year -- we do it entirely in-house. The point is it’s the NAMM show and we try and make it fun and entertaining. We have a lot of fun with our in-house creative team, whether it’s the EB Bus, the mobile stage, the Volkswagen with EB graphics, or our award winning-T’s," Ball continued. "We not only come up with all these ideas, but we bring them to life, and each year we try to better ourselves - we’ve got more up our sleeve."
