Logic Audio 4.7 Free Download For Users, Now AvailableLogic Audio 4.7 is now available as a free download for users of the both the Mac and Windows version of Logic Audio. The major new improvement in this version is the 'Unified Classic and Virtual MIDI Engine'.Dr. Gerhard Lengeling of Emagic: "We are particularly proud of a major innovation: the Unified Classic and Virtual MIDI Engine. This means that Logic Audio is now perfectly prepared for the age of virtual tone generators. The new engine standardizes the way that Logic Audio deals with both "classic" — externally connected via a real MIDI cable — and "virtual" MIDI instruments; that is, tone generators that are realised entirely within software. This capability means that, for the first time, it is possible to apply Logic's extensive and unique MIDI capabilities to these virtual software instruments as well. For example, loop functions and the endless possibilities offered by the Environment can now be used, with absolutely jitter-free, sample accurate timing. As the new engine fundamentally alters the program's internal operations in all areas, we also offer (simply as an additional security alternative) the option to activate the long familiar, proven engine. This new engine was originally foreseen as a Version 5 feature. However, due to its development proceeding much faster than expected, we decided to make the new engine available with version 4.7, even though it meant delaying the release of the update. We feel that the clear advantages it offers amply justify the wait." 8 Channel Surround for TDM Systems Logic Audio Platinum 4.7 for Mac offers an 8-channel Surround solution for TDM systems. The surround mode can be chosen for each channel, bus or instrument at any time. Audio positioning can be adjusted to perfectly match any musical material or situation. Logic Audio Platinum allows for mixdowns in surround format, with up to eight loudspeaker output channels. Surround formats supported include all common formats, including the most demanding, such as the 7.1 format. New Fader Object An overall "Master" fader is now available to TDM systems. This is helpful for fading in/out all "Outputs" in one go while retaining the relative volume setting differences of the individual output objects. Emagic EVP 88 Support All Logic Audio 4.7 Versions - Platinum, Gold, Silver and MicroLogic AV - now offer support for the Emagic Vintage Piano 88 Audio Instrument. The EVP 88 is available for separate purchase and offers the sounds of several classic electromagnetic pianos, with 88-note polyphony. Unified MIDI and Audio Engines This new functionality integrates Logic Audio's MIDI and Audio engines. This allows a range of new options, which are of particular use for Audio Instruments. In the Environment window, Audio Instruments can be processed via Logic's realtime objects, such as arpeggiators, delays etc. Cabling of these objects must run IN to the Audio Instrument channel. This new functionality allows a number of creative options, including the layering of Audio Instruments with other Audio or MIDI instruments. VST Plug-in Optimizations in Logic Audio 4.7 - VST 2.0 instruments can now receive VST clock information, making it possible to perfectly synchronize delays, LFOs and other effects to the song tempo. Note that the plug-in must request this information from Logic, and that not all plug-ins do this. Check with the plug-in manufacturer to see if this functionality applies to the particular plug-in used. - Internal programs of VST2.0 instruments can now be changed via standard program change commands. - The maximum number of VST plug-ins that can be installed has been increased. - "All notes off" message sent to Audio Instruments after pressing STOP. EXS24 Improvements Incorporated into the 4.7 Logic Audio Update - Management of EXS24 instruments via hierarchical flip menus. - Flexible and individual organization of sample instruments. Existing sample archives can be used and their folder structure will be reflected in the hierarchical menus. - Sample instruments can now be archived on a per-project basis. - New "Find" functionality allows search via key words. Automated search over network volumes possible. - Several AKAI-format sample import improvements. - Support of new sample formats: SampleCell format (cross platform), Soundfont2 format (cross platform). - Number of sampler instruments is only limited by hard disk capacity. Support of new sample formats In addition to the EXS24 native, WAV, AIFF and SDII formats (with 8 to 24 Bit resolutions) and the conversion of Akai S1000/S3000 samples, the EXS24 also supports SampleCell (cross-platform) and the Soundfont2 formats (cross platform). Free Download Logic Audio 4.7 The new version of Emagic's Logic Audio is again a free download for users of both the windows and Mac version of the software, as it has been since 4.0. The new free download of Logic Audio 4.7 is no longer available from version before 4.6. There are now seperate downloads availabe to be able to upgrade to the new version of Logic Audio 4.7.
