Volkszämpler - CreamWare presents VST sampler for PC and MacAt the Musikmesse 2001 in Frankfurt, CreamWare unveiled its new Volkszämpler - thus presenting, for the first time, an instrument in the form of a VST plug-in which, although based on CreamWare's SCOPE DSP technology, does not require any dedicated DSP hardware.{2154.jpgrThe Volkszämpler supports mono and stereo samples with resolutions of up to 32 bits and sample rates of up to 96 kHz, so that the best possible sound quality is guaranteed. The sampler is compatible to sound libraries for the Akai S1000 and S3000, as well as to Soundfont 2, WAV and AIFF file formats. Samples can be loaded directly from the CD-ROM drive or hard disk of the host PC/Mac and can also be stored to the computer's hard disk. The sampler features extensive editing capabilities on the sample and program level. Keygroups are equipped with velocity switch and velocity crossfade options. A graphical sample editor makes it easy to find loop points and offers many additional features for editing of the individual samples. A modulation matrix, two envelopes and LFOs as well as a resonant filter invite further experimentation and make the Volkszämpler a highly creative and flexible instrument. In addition to its impressive sound capabilities, Volkszämpler features a highly intuitive user interface and seamless integration with VST-compatible programs such as Cubase, Logic or Nuendo. The Volkszämpler's only limitations, as compared to CreamWare's DSP-based samplers, are the inherent ones exhibited by any device which is implemented as a native, CPU-based application. {2155.jpglWith Volkszämpler, CreamWare is now back in the area of purely native software. CreamWare founder and CEO Frank Hund comments: " We were already working completely native with our recording system tripleDAT way back at the beginning of the 90's - and we set the benchmarks there for quite some time. And since we're offering the Volkszämpler at such an interesting price, hobby musicians with small budgets will now also get a chance to profit from our advanced software technology.
