Ernie Ball Endorsees Nominated for 29 Academy of Country Music Awards
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA- Nominations for the recently announced 36th Annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards include twelve artists/groups who are enthusiastic users of Ernie Ball acoustic, electric and bass strings and accessories, as well as Music Man guitars, basses and amplifiers.
a{Toby Keith}, a{Lee Ann Womack}, a{Sons of the Desert}, a{Brad Paisley} and more were honored with the prestigious ACM nominations. Winners will be announced when the 36th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards show is broadcast live on CBS, Wednesday, May 9.
"To have so many of our endorsing artists recognized by the ACM is a huge deal," enthused Greg Timmons, artist relations manager for the Ernie Ball Company. "It is so gratifying to see so many talented and hard working artists get this type of recognition - we all hope they end up taking home these awards."
Toby Keith had a total of six nominations: Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, Video of the Year, Album of the Year ("How Do You Like Me Now?"), Single Record of the Year, and Song of the Year ("You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This"). The singer/songwriter and his band perform regularly with Ernie Ball strings.

Another country star, Lee Ann Womack landed six nominations: Top Female Vocalist, Video of the Year, Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Vocal Event of the Year. Her single, "I Hope You Dance" was named Country Song of the Year at this year's Grammy's and was named as Single of the Year and Song of the Year at the County Music Association Awards last October. Womack and her band use Ernie Ball strings and Music Man basses.
Sons of the Desert, a hot group whose members love the Music Man Albert Lee, Axis Sport and Super Sport, Stingray 5 and Sterling models, garnered four AMC nominations, while Brad Paisley, another fan of Ernie Ball strings and Music Man guitars and basses, earned three nominations. Sara Evans (a fresh new face on the scene) and Alabama each had two nominations. Also honored with nominations were Jo Dee Messina, Kenney Chesney, The Kinley's, Montgomery Gentry, Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts - all endorsers of Ernie Ball's custom strings.
