Denon introduces the new AVR-2801P a/v receiver- Full-featured receiver offers multichannel audio in Dolby Digital, DTS formats with discrete channel playback -Denon Electronics is showing the new AVR-2801P A/V Surround Receiver at this year's Winter NAMM Show. With 90 watts of clean power (into 8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.05% THD) from each of the five discrete channels, the AVR-2801P can accommodate all of the primary multichannel playback formats, including Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, DTS and Surround Simulator. With an extensive feature set, Denon's new AVR-2801P functions as a versatile central processing system for a wide range of applications. {2071.jpgc At the heart of the AVR-2801 is Denon's Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit that incorporates the latest high performance DSP chip technology and advanced A/D and D/A converters. This high-tech package includes Denon's 24-bit/96-kHz Digital Interface Receiver (DIR). The DIR is configured to not only allow direct digital signal input from DVD and other advanced media to pass directly to the DIR, it also processes those signals while preserving their integrity. This process insures that even the most delicate nuances of music are faithfully reproduced. Dual DSP engines allows the user to adjust the sound to perfectly suit the listening environment. The AVR-2801P is extremely reliable, equipped with a main transformer featuring independent 5-winding outputs and a dedicated transformer for the microprocessor. This allows completely separate and discrete operation of the power amp, audio, video, and display circuits, which reduces noise interference and ensures clean, transparent sound. The AVR-2801P's reliability is further enhanced by a reinforced power supply section and a stable speaker drive assembly which incorporates a new phase correction circuit, eliminating the need for an output coil. Since this configuration allows the power transistor to drive the speakers directly, there is never any loss of power to any of the channels. The AVR-2801P also features 6-channel external input, allowing it to accommodate DVD-Audio and SACD disc formats, as well as conventional CDs and video inputs. Users can access all of the AVR-2801P's functions in a simple and reliable manner, utilizing such Denon exclusives as Personal Memory Plus. This valuable function, which allows users to store critical parameters such as level settings and delay times, also permits retrieval of setting at the push of a button, either from the unit's front panel or from its Multi-function Remote Controller. The Remote Controller features an easy-to-use layout where most frequently used buttons are provided in different colors and shapes for easy recognition. The buttons also employ self-illuminated GLO-KEY technology for easy operation in the dark. The AVR-2801P comes with standard 19-inch rack-mount hardware.
