Allen & Heath launched Xone:92 professional DJ/club mixerAllen & Heath launched the Xone:92 professional DJ/club mixer last month at London's Cargo, to a select guest list of DJs, dealers, press and devoted Xone users.The elite group was treated to an intimate set by the original experimental DJ, Richie Hawtin, who embarked on a workshop-style demonstration of the new mixer. A renowned Allen & Heath champion, Hawtin enthusiastically described the features and capabilities as he made use of them. "I never wear product T-shirts but I'll wear this one," commented Hawtin as he appeared on stage to an awestruck audience. As the venue opened to the public, Allen & Heath supplied a diverse DJ line up for the evening's entertainment to demonstrate the versatility of the Xone:92. The evening began with the UK's most up and coming turntablist, DJIQ, whose dexterous skills displayed the 92's scratch functionality. DJ C1, signed to Carl Cox's Intec Records, came on next and got the crowd really going with his quick fire blend of techno and house. C1 was blown away with the 92 features and when his set was over, commented: "The 92 really suits my style of playing, literally everything is controlled from the mixer in a number of innovative ways. You've built something of a monster! I'm really looking forward to investigating it in depth and I'm definitely considering putting the 92 on my rider." The headline act of the evening was another Allen & Heath devotee, premier house DJ, Sander Kleinenberg. Sander most recently used Allen & Heath's audiophile rotary mixer, the Xone:V6, to record his mix album, 'Everybody'. His set went down a storm as guests marvelled at his sophisticated and creative techniques. "I'm really honoured that Allen & Heath invited me to perform at their launch party. I love the Xone's superior sound quality and I think the Xone:92 is going to be a DJ and club favourite." Since the announcement that Allen & Heath would be launching a new Xone mixer, the response was overwhelming. "Within minutes of our emailed invitations going out there were fervent messages on all the DJ forums and we had numerous calls and emails asking for information. The first order came only one hour after we made the announcement, based purely on the Xone name, as we had embargoed technical and pricing information until the launch," explained marketing manager, Debbie Maxted. "Feedback from the guests who attended, as well as the DJs who used the Xone:92, has been overwhelming and we are sure the 92 is destined to be a huge success." + Post comment/question/reply
