Shure Incorporated Sponsors Chicago Legacy Awards Manufacturer Celebrates 75th Anniversary
Shure Incorporated, the world's leading manufacturer of microphones and audio electronics, announced its status as sponsor of the first annual Chicago Legacy Awards. The event, honoring several distinguished local members of the music community and presented by the Chicago Chapter of the Recording Academy (NARAS), will take place this evening at the Adler Planetarium in the city's lakefront museum campus.
Hosted by celebrated jazz vocalist Kurt Elling, the honorees will include jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis, bluesman Lonnie Brooks, radio personality Terri Hemmert, multi-platinum R&B artist R. Kelly, and recording engineer Steve Albini. Each will be commended for their extensive contributions and accomplishments within both the Chicago music community and the music industry at-large.
"This year is Shure's 75th anniversary and, looking back at our own history, we've been struck by the parallels between our company's growth and that of the music industry," stated Sandy LaMantia, Shure President and CEO. "As a Chicago-area company celebrating our own legacy in sound, we are honored to sponsor this premiere event."
