Wizoo and Steinberg Set Up a Sound Design Foundry

Bremen, May 22nd, 2001 - Wizoo GmbH, Bremen, is set to hand over its sound design activities to the newly launched Wizoo Sound Design GmbH, a joint venture of Wizoo and Steinberg Media Technologies AG.
Carrying on the Wizoo sound-sculpting tradition, Wizoo Sound Design GmbH will market professional CD-ROM sample libraries under its own brand name and develop products on behalf of other musical instrument and software vendors. In addition, Wizoo Sound Design GmbH will serve as the sonic foundry for Steinberg, hammering out products geared toward both the pro and consumer markets.

Commenting on the start-up company's launch, Manfred Rürup, CEO of Steinberg Media Technologies AG, notes, "Steinberg's stake in Wizoo Sound Design affords us the opportunity to tap into the market for sound libraries. Access to content and target-focused development will become an important factor in the future success of our business."

Peter Gorges, Wizoo proprietor and manager of the new Wizoo Sound Design GmbH, adds "The Wizoo brand name is known the world over as a professional, premium-quality book publisher and sound designer.
