Denon launches the new 7.1 AVR-3801P A/V surround receiver- Feature packed, high power 7 channel receiver accommodates all multichannel audioformats including DTS-ES, plus unique multi-zone operation allows different programsto be configured for multiple zones -Denon Electronics is showing the new AVR-3801P A/V Surround Receiver at this year's Winter NAMM Show. With the increased need to accommodate various multichannel audio formats for a wider variety of venues and facilities, Denon's AVR-3801P A/V Surround Receiver is the ultimate solution for consistent high-quality sound reproduction. The new AVR-3801P A/V Surround Receiver supports 5.1 through 7.1 multichannel playback formats, and supports them with 7 fully discrete independent channels, each of which offers 105 watts of power and equal frequency response across the spectrum. The AVR-3801P also supports both DTS-ES Extended Surround Discrete and Extended Surround Matrix 6.1 Decoding formats. The AVR-3801P can automatically detect surround formats with increased numbers of channels, such as 6.1 and 7.1, playing the additional channels back in a matrixed decoded form that is superior to the "logic"-type decoders used in standard receivers. In addition to DTS decoding, the AVR-3801P also supports Dolby Digital 5.1 discrete decoding and Dolby 6.1 DTS matrixed decoding. Thus, users of the AVR-3801P are assured that their sound systems will be able to handle any multichannel format and do so with the highest quality sound available. The AVR-3801P's remarkable versatility stems from the incorporation of the Analog Devices SHARC 32-bit floating-point DSP processor. Combined with Denon's renowned DDSC-D circuitry. This creates a powerful processing engine that can faithfully recreate all the subtle nuances of any musical performance. This capability is supported by the AVR-3801P's 96-kHz/24-bit A-D converters. These not only provide the highest level of digital filtering, but also allow the unit to accommodate DVD-Audio and SACD disc formats, as well as conventional CDs. For end users requiring multi-zone operation, the AVR-3801P allows the creation of second fully discrete stereo zone in another location in the venue, while still providing up to five channels of discrete sound to the main zone. The AVR-3801P's Power Amplifier Assign function allows users to assign the two surround rear channels to drive a completely independent set of outputs, while still maintaining 105 watts of undistorted, clear signal to all channels. The AVR-3801P comes with a host of other professional features, including: user-friendly operation with remote control with backlit 10-character Dot Matrix LCD display; a System Call function allowing users to program up to 29 successive pre-assigned commands at the touch of a single button; Preset Memory that allows users to control other devices with the Denon Remote Controller; and frequency synthesis tuning with 40-station AM/FM Random Preset Memory Tuning.
