Waves introduces new entry level maxxstream LX solution
Waves Ltd., a leading supplier of audio signal processing solutions for the professional audio and multimedia markets, today introduced MaxxStream LX, a new entry level version of its industry leading solution for radio broadcasting and internet streaming. The MaxxStream products are the industry's first to integrate audio encode supporting multiple encoders formats and bitrates simultaneously with audio capture, processing, archiving and transmission into a single easy-to-use solution. All MaxxStream products utilize Waves award-winning audio processors, the quality standard for Gold/Platinum CDs and blockbuster movies, providing dramatic improvements in sound quality in narrowband broadcasting applications.
The benefits of MaxxStream LX benefits are same as the original MaxxStream products. This includes broadband sound from narrowband transmission, multiple encoding resolutions, simple integrated solution and customizable 'tuning'. MaxxStream LX also provides all of these benefits but with a reduced feature list and a dramatically lower price of $1,000 MSRP.
"Many customers have now realized tremendous audio quality improvements, lower system cost and simplified use by utilizing MaxxStream products," stated Gilad Keren CEO of Waves. "The new MaxxStream LX product will allow these same benefits at a lower prices point to allow direct competition with soundcard solutions. We believe MaxxStream LX product will be particularly attractive to customers in Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), stream services, and local radio stations that may be more cost sensitive."
The MaxxStream LX is a PCI card solution that is reduces the hardware and software functionality of the already established MaxxStream PCI. The MaxxStream LX eliminates the XLR connections for balanced I/O and AES/EBU as well as utilizes a less powerful DSP solution. It also offers only two audio processors, the L1 Ultramaximizer and AudioTrack.
MaxxStream LX pricing is MSRP $1,000 with availability in July 2001. New lower MSRP are also now available on the established MaxxStream products.
