Yamaha, Hal Leonard Ccorporation & the music sales group announce strategic internet alliaNEW YORK—Yamaha Corporation of Japan, the world's largest manufacturer of musical instruments, together with the world's leading print music publishers Hal Leonard Corporation and the Music Sales Group, announce the formation of YMH Digital Music Publishing.YMH Digital Music Publishing will develop a range of innovative Internet-based products aimed at both professional musicians and music enthusiasts. The new venture will use highly secure, e-commerce-enabled Web locations where visitors can: - download music lessons, MIDI files or musical notation - learn about a chosen instrument of their choice - find songbooks or instructional products with accompanying software and accessories - consult with experts Free demos will encourage first-time visitors to explore the variety of exciting new offerings. An initial product launch is planned for summer 2001.
