Palo Alto, CA - Digidesign is now shipping the first upgrade to its Pro Tools 5 LE software, Pro Tools 5.0.1 LE. With Pro Tools 5.0.1 LE, Windows 98 support is available for Digidesign’s home and project studio products, the Digi 001 and Digi Toolbox XP. The recording, editing and mixing capabilities of Digi 001 and Digi Toolbox XP are powered by Pro Tools LE software. Pro Tools LE supports up to 24 tracks of 16- or 24-bit audio and introduces the Real-Time AudioSuite (RTAS) plug-in architecture, delivering real-time, host-based mixing and effects processing. With the 5.0.1 release, Digidesign also adds a low-latency monitoring feature for both Digi 001 and Digi Toolbox XP systems, an MP3 export option for Windows Pro Tools systems, and Windows 98 support for the SampleCell II Plus PCI sampling card. The Pro Tools 5.0.1 LE release also introduces a beta RTAS version of the DirectConnect Plug-In.(Mac OS Only) DirectConnect provides a direct path from host-based audio software directly into the Pro Tools mixing environment, and lets users take full advantage of the automation and processing power of Pro Tools. A number of Digidesign Development Partners have announced DirectConnect-compatible versions of their host-based synths and samplers, including Studio9000 by Koblo, REAKTOR by Native Instruments, ALKALI by Audio Genetics, Retro AS-1, Unity DS-1 and Voddo by Bitheadz, and Spark XL by TC|WORKS. + Post comment/question/reply Digidesign SurroundScope Multi-Channel Metering Plug-In For Surround Sound Mixing o channel within the multichannel sound field.
