I just bought a used RBX170 and found it to be really nice for a entry level bass. Sounds good, nice build quality for the money and dual P/J pickups. Got it for $100 at Guitar Center- it had a couple of very minor scratches on the back and thats it. I will probably get better strings and get it set up properly, but it plays pretty nice already! 8 ¯ GT-6B bass effects Boss GT6B Bass Effects Processor - Crazy dave It is a little complicated to learn but I played on a GT-3 Guitar effects for a couple of years and this taught me how to use it. If you get one you need to dedicate a couple of weeks to this product. Once you learn it is is a wonderful tool to compliment your playing abilities. The learning process is the only reason that it didn't score higher. 7 ¯ fender maple neck Fender Deluxe P-Bass Special Maple Neck - AD Its not the greatest but up to satisfaction! 8 ¯ Fender Jazz Aerodyne Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass (Black) - Eracerx TONE! Best of both worlds, with P and J style pickups, and plenty of tone variation via the knobs. It's a great player, with the thin Jazz neck and the amazing radius cut body - best body on any Fender bass. It's lightweight, uber-attractive, and fantastic playability with a good set up. Highly recommended - it is probably my last bass. The low price is unbelieveble for this basscombo. It has a rugged construction, sounds very good and has a RMS power of 120 Watts. It's active 4 band EQ is good enough for a bass combo and it is additional equipped with an ultrabass knob to gain the real sub-low frequencies. 9 ¯ Killer Machine Boss GT6B Bass Effects Processor As a guitarist I already used the Boss GT-3 guitar effects processor. Ever since using that I wanted something similar for my Bass. Finally the GT-6 B came out. I think it's a really good machine, it has all the features I want, Comp. /Limiter, Dist. /OD, Wah, all kinds of Delay, Chorus and Reverb, and also a greaqt variety of Amp and Speaker model simulations, allowing me to turn my mediocre amp into a killing machine. Another strong point is that the GT-6 B alows you to switch either from bank to bank or. . . From patch to patch allowing you to switch effects on and of within the same patch (a feature I miss on the GT-3). However I wish they would have made it easier to switch between these modes (maybe in the next series they will). I was also very pleasantly surprised at how user friendly the GT-6 B is, if you want to change your sound you simply turn the nob of the parameter you wish to change (rather than navigating yourself through various menus on the GT-3). All in all I'dsay that this is a very powerful effects processor and probably the best one currently available.
