Knilling introduces the thinline jazz bass

Knilling introduces the thinline jazz bas
Knilling’s new Jazz Bass provides players with the smooth playability and rich sound traditionally associated with bulky, upright basses, in a slender, lightweight, and versatile body.

Great for all types of playing styles, including jazz, blues, rock ‘n’’ roll, salsa, and swing, the versatility and transportability make the Jazz Bass a very attractive alternative for schools, not to mention professional musicians. Lang Shen says, "The basses were very well received at the Nashville NAMM show. In fact, we had endorsers come over and kidnap them! They loved the amplified sound, the "feel" of the bass responding like a real acoustic instrument, as opposed to the dead feeling associated with solid body or fiberglass basses – and the ease of transporting the slender body, a real bonus for gigging musicians. The Knilling Shop Adjustment also makes these basses play like a "real" bass because all of the elements of adjustment are correct. Everyone who played on it loved the amplified sound."

Exhibiting outstanding German craftsmanship, the bass is adorned with a laminated spruce top, laminated back and sides, solid maple neck, and ebony fingerboard and nut. Hand-rubbed spirit varnish with
Chrome-plated machine heads are other examples of superior design and attention to detail. Plus, a Knilling Custom Shop Adjustment includes fully adjustable maple bridge with Fishman pickup and 1/4" input, ebony tailpiece, 2" endpin, and Helicore strings.

The Jazz bass has the traditional a shape, but only a 3 and 1/4" depth for playing ease, and easy transportation. Its overall length is 68", with a body length of 40 1/2". Because the Jazz bass utilizes a piezo electric pickup, and the acoustic volume of the bass is smaller than that of a standard bass, feedback is truly minimized.
