Yamaha RBX Bass 4 string RBX374, 5 string RBX375 with active preampYamaha's popular RBX line continues to push modern bass design past new limits with great tone, fresh styling and cutting-edge features. Winter NAMM 2004 provides the launching pad for three new models: The four-string RBX374, five-string RBX375 and the 6-string John Myung signature model, the RBXJM2."These basses make no compromises," states Joseph Brasler, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. "The RBX line has always pushed the sonic boundaries, and these shake the foundations like never before." All three RBX models deliver Yamaha's trademark blend of top-grade materials, world-class craftsmanship and outstanding value. Each bass features a toneful Alder body, a bolt-on Maple 24 fret neck with a 34"-scale Rosewood fingerboard, a muscular, contoured double-cutaway body and a stunning 3-D headstock design that's sure to make everyone take notice. Black hardware and sharp styling complete the 21st Century look. The signature RBXJM2 model sets the bar with a 3-piece Maple neck, oval Abalone position markers and a choice between Inca Silver or Plum Pearl Metallic finishes. Named for Dream Theater bassist John Myung, the RBXJM2 delivers distinctive tone, thanks to a custom Seymour Duncan SMB-6a pickup and a high-octane active preamp that features an ultra-versatile three-band EQ. The RBX374 and RBX375 offer similar features, but each sports two newly designed, high-output ceramic hum-canceling pickups that can beef up any rig. With two-band EQ, master volume and a pickup-blending pan pot, the active preamp can dial in powerhouse tone with lethal precision. Finishes include Flat Silver, Red Metallic, and Black. New, edgy pickup covers round out the look.
