Broken Bass Rhythm, Riff type Exercise

This next exercise is a difficult version of the previous simple lesson. It shows that with some simple variations and a complex drum rhythm you can create a much more interesting song.

This next exercise uses a broken rhythm. Look at the bass tabs and sheet music. Instead of playing the A over the first bar and the C over the second you actually play the A a little longer creating a "riff" type rhythm instead of the "chord" like rhythm used in the previous bass lesson.

Another difficult part of this rhythm is the drums. The bass drum of the rhythm may make you think you need to play two fast notes instead of one. Be sure to exactly follow the sheet music and tab and don't let the drums confuse you.
