NEWS Dave Matthews Band Upgrades to Meyer Sound MILO PA Speakers (11/18) Vying for the mantle of hardest-working band in the biz, Charlottesville, Va., heroes The Dave Matthews Band (DMB) spent four months crossing the U.S. on their marathon summer 2006 tour. Fans at every stop were treated to stellar sound, as the DMB’s long-time FOH engineer Jeff Thomas recently switched the band to a system of self-powered MILO high-power curvilinear array loudspeakers provided by legendary San Francisco Bay Area sound company Pro Media/UltraSound. Thomas and the DMB have worked with UltraSound since early in the band’s career, originally assembling a sound system based around Meyer Sound’s legacy, unpowered MSL-3 reinforcement loudspeaker. Dave Matthews Band Expands Tour (02/28) The Dave Matthews Band expanded their 2002 tour plans with the addition of 34 shows with dates July 5 through September 8.The mostly East Coast summer run follows already announced shows for this spring. The band is set to head out April 4 through May 24.The tour earned the group the No. 4 slot on Pollstar's Top 100 Tours of 2001, grossing more than $60 million for 51 shows.
