Creating Drum Tracks, Basics and Techniques
Drum tracks are one of the most important ingredients in today's modern music styles like dance, techno, rap, pop, R&B and hip hop. The rhythm has to make the listener want to get up and move to the beat or relax and sit back. If the rhythm of the song sounds too strange, unprofessional, weird it does not get any play time, either on the radio or in the clubs.
There are different ways to create drum beats and tracks.
1) MIDI sequencing and arranging 2) Loops
Have a few good drum loops is probably the easiest way to create a drum beat, but it is not always the most original and useful way to create rhythms. The loops still have to be fit together in a song and it has to move with the music from the verse to the chorus to the next part. Of course it is possible to create drum parts in between the loops but you will run into another important rule that seems to exist in modern music:
