Yamaha SSD-1250A Soprano Mini Snare Drum Fit Any Kit

Since their introduction, the Yamaha mini snare drums have offered drummers a unique, yet cost-effective addition to their sets. That same distinctive, contemporary sound and attractive price point may be found in three new models which will make their Summer NAMM 2001 debut: the SSD-1050A Sopranino; the SSD-1250A Soprano; and the SSD-1350A Piccolo. All models are available in Raven Black and Gloss Natural finishes, which may easily be incorporated into any existing drum kit.

"Like their predecessors, the new entries offer that higher pitched snare sound that is difficult to produce acoustically, and is found in more 'modern' musical styles," states Jerry Andreas, Drum marketing manager, Yamaha Corporation of America, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "These mini snares provide universal appeal to all drummers, no matter what color or make their drum set may be."

All models feature 5-in. deep, 8-ply 8mm shells and 14-strand, high-carbon snares to produce a distinctive "crack." Shells are constructed of Birch, Philippine Mahogany and Falkata plys. The 10-in. Sopranino and 12-in. Soprano models include a standard Yamaha tom mount, which enables the drums to be affixed to a cymbal or hi-hat stand. The 13-in. Piccolo may be positioned on a standard snare stand.

"The quality of these drums is unbelievable, and the price is even better," adds David Jewell, product manager, Yamaha Drums. "Now, anyone, beginner or pro, can add an explosive Yamaha snare drum to their set without breaking the bank."
