As mentioned before a Paradiddle is a type of Drum Rudiment. The first type of Paradiddle we'll be looking at is the single Paradiddle. This is the easiest type of Paradiddle and will probably be hard enough for most drummers who have not yet used these techniques.

Let's start with a basic snare drum exercise:

First try to play a simple 4 hit snare drum rhythm exercise.

use a simple R L R L rhythm. This is the most logical snare drum rhythm which you will probably use as a fill in a standard pop/rock or blues type drum rhythm. Now let's try a variation!
