Mixing the bass drum is easy, but also difficult. The mixing of the bass drum is easy because there is no question where the bass drum should be mixed and what kind of chorus effects, flangers should be used. But what is more of a problem is the way different frequency range are handled during the mixing process and how the human ear influences decisions by the engineer mixing the audio. You also have to look at how the bass drum interacts with the bass guitar and bass frequencies of synths, pianos and the overall mix. Let’s take a look.
