LP Takes Percussion from Pit to Field with the LP Marching Percussion Rack & Harness
The history of marching drumming has seen an evolution from fife & drum to brass, wind, and full percussion. Indeed, some marching drumming scores today rival their symphonic counterparts in their demands for percussive textures.
Similarly, the LP Percussion Rack has evolved to accommodate a whole class of instruments once excluded from the field, simply because of difficulties in mounting. Meeting today's demands for an array of percussion that would challenge any pit drummer, the LP Percussion Rack allows the marching drummer six instruments arranged in eight possible mounting configurations. Using six LP proven eyebolts and six mounting rods, including four straight and two Z-rods, the Rack allows for a comfortable spread - approximately two feet - of the instruments that will make the difference in the competitive marching world. Made of tough, US made steel, the Rack weighs in at only two pounds and is perfectly balanced for marching.
Mounting is simple. Basically, if it's on a rod, you can mount it on the LP Percussion Rack. The implications are that we will see LP Mini Timbales, bells, cymbals, blocks - really, it's up to the imagination. You can be certain that with the influx of new sounds, marching arrangements will evolve as a consequence of LP innovation!
Of course, mounting instruments is only half the story. The goal of the designers was to lighten the load to expand musicality, and maintain flexibility - a tough call! Priority one was weight. Accordingly, the harness is made out of aluminum, strong yet only two pounds in weight - light as a feather. For comfort the harness has foam padding at friction and trauma points. Then, since no two individuals share the same physiognomy, the harness adjustable at both the critical shoulder and stomach area. It also incorporates a unisex design, allowing ample accommodation in the chest area. Finally, we wanted the rack to complement today's marching garb, so we made it in an attractive black matte finish.
Durability and projection have never been a problem with LP instruments. Now players can strut our stuff on the field. Marching drums, drum corps, pipe & drum. We talk the talk. Now you can walk the walk with the LP Marching Percussion Rack and Harness.
