It's in the key of D. / = go up to the next note (every / = 1 octave) \ = go down to the next note (every \ = 1 octave) [ ] = notes in between these brackets are played all at once D = 2 Ds below middle C D = every other d I can't figure out any way to make the rhythms clear, you'll just have to listen to the songs. INTRO and VERSES: (D / / / F# \ A \ G. . . d / / / f# \ a \ g. . . \ a / / / f# \ a / d . . . \ \ B / / G \ F# \ E / F#) X 2 (second time through: after the last F#, go \ E \ D) CHORUS LH: Continuous broken G chord in swing time (G/B/D/G\D\B\G etc. ) RH: B B / d . . . \ f# f# / a . . . / c# \ b . . . \ F# / G \ F# \ d On the last d of the RH, the LH starts with d \ A \ G \ F# \ E \ [D \ G] -> start broken G chord progression again, and repeat the whole thing. BRIDGE: (When you feel embarassed) Simply chords. A major [A-C#-E] G major [G-B-D] D major [D-F#-A] and back to G (the whole thing two times through) then: ( [Bb-D-F#-Bb] [B-D-F#-B] ) X2 ( [D-F#-C#] [D-F#-D] ) X2, then G major, and the outro is the same as the intro. Hope you can figure it out, it's a great song. Also, I noticed a could of people looking for Transatlanticism. I haven't taken a lot of time to figure it out, but this is my version. Intro/Verses are: A major [A-C#-E], C# minor [C#-F-G#] D major [D-F#-A] F# minor [F#-A-C#]. Every second time through that, play a quick E major [E-G#-B] after F# minor and before A major. Occasionally you should break up the F#min chord and throw a G# on top of it -- that sounds pretty. For the chorus (I need you so much closer), play a solid Dmaj chord with your right hand and a low D with your left, then the right hand plays (broken): A / C# / G#, \ A / C# / A, \ A / C# / G#, \ A / [D-F#] (that's the guitar riff) while the left hand plays (broken): A. . . \ F# / A \ E / A \ D (repeat) |
