Yeah yeah, I know. . . it's a broad topic. . . . But lets talk standard versions of both for now. What are your preferences. . . I currently play the Jazz. . . it's really fun to play and there is something about it that makes me want to play it more and encourages me during sessions. . . . but I've been trying out Precisions and they feel quite good. I'm thinking of buying a precision, but to do so I would have to sell my Jazz. What do you, the bass playing community of this site, think about the jazz to the precision, precision to jazz | Sushiking ğmy Profile ğmy Messages ğmy Reviews |

Funny, I've always played a Precision and I'm thinking of buying a Jazz :-) I'm also curious to hear what others have to say about it. It seems to me that Jazz basses are brighter, and a bit more versative, right? I really love my Precision for Motown and funk, the sound's really boomy and a little bit dirty. But I was thinking that a Jazz bass would be cleaner and would cut through the mix a bit better in the studio. I'm a player but I'm no instrument expert. I'd love to hear what some other bassheads have to say. | Profgumby ğmy Profile ğmy Messages ğmy Reviews |

Hiya! Newbie here. . . . In reading this thread, I am most likely going to get a Jazz Bass in a month or so. Mostly due to the neck is easier for my porkchop hands to play. That being said, I was compelled to point out that Frank Bello plays a Jazz Bass and so does Gedy Lee. Two very different sounds, basically same bass | Ha Ha Adams Dead ğmy Profile ğmy Messages ğmy Reviews |

Hey! ya man I play the Jazz, and I love the look of it and the sound can just go along with any kind of music. I play with a pick most of the time cause I play more punk rock instead of alternative. And I just love the way it can just keep up with my band. Or even other types of music. So my vote is on Jazz, but its not like I hate the Precision its just that I preferr the J, because its a bass that looks different than the P Bass and thats what I like. later! STAY PUNK< STAY FREE!!!Lol | |
