Beginner Trying to hook up Mac G4 with Motu 2408 card....Help!

Hello-

Im a classically trained musician with little background in computers. I found a great deal on a g4 Mac and Motu 2408 card and would like to begin recording but dont really know what Im doing! How do I hook up my mics or synthesizer through all of this gear? I would like to start recording into DP but so far Im confused and not getting anywhere.
