I have a problem on connecting an electric guitar to a pc and I dont know what exactly im gonna use. Is it connected to the line in of the sound card?Do I need an amplifier to do this?Also, can u please tell me where can I find resources regarding my problem.

A line in of a computer or any other audio equipment is just like the line in of a stereo system, audio receiver etc. A guitar output is not the same as a ine out of a CD player or anything else, you can not simply connect it to a line in. You need "change/convert" the level to the line in level of you PC. Some guitar amps do have a line out, but most don't.
For recording your guitar on your pc try using a DI box, an instrument/mic preamp a direct recording effect pedal or effects processors

Yup, you just need some sort of preamp. Don't go through your amp. I connect my strat to a pod directly to my sounc card's line-in - Not the best sound, but definitely usable | Charvelguy

An amp modeler like a J-station which has a midi out to a sound card that is midi adaptable
Or a adapter device like a midiman. Ebay has these things on a regular basis and can get you going for less than a 100. 00 for everything if you shop | |
