I like to play grunge, punk and some metal - as well as more mellow sounds - which would be better suited as a home practice amp? Thanks for any info or opinions

Amp modelling and effects, and it runs for a long time ( I've had mine almost two years and only changed the batteries twice) on batteries. Comes with an adaptor too. Since neither is really loud enough on its own to jam with a drummer, I prefer the microcube for home/travel/busking/campfire jamming. There's nothing I've found that can compete or compare to the microcube for portability, versatility and features-great sounding little practice amp. If the Cube 15 had reverb it would be even tougher to choose. I bought the Cube 60, too. It's great for a little more money if you want something loud enough for gigs & jamming with a drummer no effects pedals needed!
