Recording great acoustic guitar starts with a good microphone. When you have the right tools you need to have the proper technique and it will all come together.
Most musicians and recording engineers simply use one good microphone for vocals and like it so much that they also start using the same microphone for other acoustic sources as well. It can work but you need to know what you are doing, and how this affects placement en editing when you are going to mix down the track.
