CFox Guitars: The X Series GuitarThe CFox X celebrates the classic prewar American steel string guitar. All X guitars have a AAA grade solid Sitka spruce top and feature the CFox "Vintage X" scalloped bracing. The "Vintage X" bracing system produces the big, rich sound that is characteristic of this prewar bracing style. The X is available in all CFox models with focus placed on building loud guitars with full resonant bass without sacrificing harmonic or treble content.The design challenge of the X is to combine the deep, warm 'surround sound' voice and classic styling that many traditional acoustic players prefer, with the same uncompromising workmanship, playability and finish of our standard Napa, Sonoma and Sierra series guitars. All X guitars are tastefully appointed with a two ring herringbone rosette, tortoise shell pickguard, black and white trim, and ivoroid binding. The side and back is solid Indian rosewood. The ebony fingerboard has a standard nut width of 1 3/4" and is inlaid with mother-of-pearl position markers. The one-piece "Vintage tinted" Honduran mahogany neck has a square headstock capped with an ebony headplate with mother-of pearl CFox logo inlay and Chrome Schaller tuning machines. Pictured here is the X in the SJ (small jumbo) body. All X guitars also include benchmark CFox innovations such as a graphite reinforced narrow profile neck and compound radius fingerboard, reversed kerf linings and a footed neck block for exceptional stability.
