I think this is the best guitar in this price range by far. I think it's better than some guitars twice the price. My only complaint is the bad saddles. But for less than 50 bucks you can fix that. This is a great first guitar or an even better fixer upper. The important thing is that this guitar is a solid piece of wood. The stock pickups are pretty good,but I replaced them with a Dimarzio Air Zone in the bridge,HS-2 in the middle,and an HS-3 in the neck. I also put a Wilkenson graphite tremelo and sperzel locking tuners(I told you it fixes up great. )
My parents bought me a Yamaha Pacifica 122 for X-Mas ( of 2000 ) and it is an AMAZING guitar. I play with a Metallica cover band, the other guitarist in my band plays an Ibanez GR model; I have played his guitar and a Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus ( which belongs to a buddy of mine ), and the Pacifica deifinetly lives up to those 2 monster guitars. . . Great blues guitar, and plays metal very nicely, the Pacifica is a perfect beginner guitar and is a great guitar for even a pro if you can't afford some of the big workhorses lke Gibsons or Ibanezs. . . Its ABSOLUTELY worth the money. |
