The JStation in my opinion is HOT! It comes with Cakewalk software (which sucks) but it has J-edit!! Midi the JStation to your computer record a song and change patches to hear what sounds better without having to replay the entire piece and switch to a new patch. I bought the JStation for 129. 99 and wanted to Use it on a Peavey Mini Stack amp (which sucks) but now running the JStation to it and playing the Amp is Totally cool. So I did this with another little 30 Watt Practice Amp once again the JStation Makes that Amp sound Totally cool. I got more Verbs, more Tone, Mores Sound more Drive more of everything. Connect it to an amp you don't like and You'll Like the Amp when it's fed by the JStation. It's Cool!! Dave
Beats the POD , in price and in sound especially effects
I love the midi interface makes life easy down loading patches , the fact that new amps are able to be downloaded is great , I use it live more than I use it for recording , I plug into my own PA system and it works great , I dont know if I'll ever look into buying another amp again . I run my nashville and my strat off of it and the tones are rich , I think you could have made it easier to manually dial up and store settings , and the amps are pretty close , with some tweaking I was able to get sounds which were unheard of. the effects are good but the wah needs work , also whats with the J8 ?? I cant seem to find it anywhere , it would make all the diffrence if I had one . the j station was a great investment and I hope in the future Johnson will look into improving all the small problems , over all I give the J station a 9. thanx
It's very versatile and is a breeze to use I would'nt be without it.
The price, the sound and it's ease of use. There really isn't anything i don't like about it.
i think the J-Station is the best new unit that we have in the Market in the last time. Going more Natural and Original than the oders, i tryed the "Red thing" and the "Funy blue Guitar Formed" and the J-Station in the best... Don't go red and don't sound like everybody else...
Very easy to use, great amp modeling
The J-Station is simply the best modeler ive heard. i also have a line 6 pod but it doent compare to the quality and the simplicity of the design. i used to be a line 6 freak but now im changing to J Station. It's all i need for recording, live situations, and just fun. Thanks for making such a wonerful Product!
The only thing i don't like is that i have had a little trouble with midi implimentaion and deep level editing, although the windows software solved most of this. Also, 1 of my pots seems to be a bit quirky. But the sound quality is great and it seems to have usuable sounds no matter how little or much tweaking you do. it is hard to make it sound bad unlike most units which i can't even get to sound good after hours. i just wish there had been more effects routing and stereo mixing options.
For the price i consider it the best guitar amp modeling processor available at this moment. The sound quality can be compared to real amps and because it is direct it is much easier to record with, especially when time is an issue. It's also useful when you have to record on location. The interface is extremely easy to use and the digital out is great for recording or hooking up to a digital mixer. The effects are of the same quality as most of the expensive Digitech effect processors, and very useful for guitar.
Still not perfect, but the best amp modeling i have heard, hands down. Much better than the sludge that comes out of the pod. i still like my amp better, but when i need to travel light this gets the job done.
