Guitar Chords: Chord Music Theory introduction
Chords are an important concept in playing music and understanding music and music theory. Basically any combination of notes can be a named a chord. This makes a chord any combination of notes with some kind of structure which has certain characteristics or a typical sound.
The reason we use chords and chord names is to structure music. Not because it is a law or a rule. A chord name and structure helps us understand different combinations of notes and how they sound. If we talk about major, most musicians know what we are talking about and what we mean. They also know what “kind of sound” we are talking about.
