Unplugged? Plugged? Unplugged? Plugged? It's come to this, fellow musicians: big-deal amplifiers for acoustic guitars. It sounds crazy, but when you think of it, it's really not. With all the inherent feedback problems you might have with gain-heavy regular guitar amps, and the limited tonal control that an electric amp will give you, A dedicated acoustic guitar amp is a fine idea.

Roland has always had fine, fine "clean" amps in their Jazz Chorus series, so it makes sense that they would come up with a great acoustic guitar amp. The AC100 is a 3-channel amp that has a 50-watt amp driving a 12-inch woofer, and two 25-watt amplifiers each driving a 5-inch speaker. This insures faithful acoustic sound at any volume. The dual-channel preamp is split into guitar and mic/aux channels. You can choose between piezo and active pickups, and the mic channel has an XLR input. Unlike many dedicated acoustic amps, you can also hook up a keyboard, drum machine, or other instrument, and the AC100 will handle it without hassle.

Being a Roland rig, you'd bet that that the AC100 would have a fine FX division and you'd be right. Digital reverb and chorus, along with anti-feedback are available on the guitar channel, and the reverb and chorus are there for you on the aux.

Plug in your unplugged axe, and make it sound just like it does when it's not plugged in, only louder!
