Roland introduces the VGA-7 V-Guitar Amplifier
{vga-7.jpgr Roland VGA-7 V-Guitar Amplifier NASHVILLE, — With Roland’s introduction of the VGA-7 V-Guitar Amplifier, the company has again expanded its line of “GK-Ready” guitar gear, giving guitarists a range of sounds and capabilities far beyond that of any other guitar product manufacturer in the world. These capabilities include triggering a wide array of high-quality synthesizer sounds from the GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer; performing seamless switches between modeled acoustic, electric, and hollow-body guitar sounds in the VG-88 V-Guitar System; or instantly switching between amps, guitars, and even various tunings in the new VGA-7 V-Guitar Amplifier. One of the secrets to Roland’s GK-Ready lineup is the GK-2A Divided Pickup (sold separately), which provides a 13-pin/6-signal connection from the guitar, instead of the mono signal from traditional pickups and instrument cables. Once the GK-2A pickup has been attached to any steel-string electric or acoustic guitar—or purchased as part of a special “Roland-Ready” guitar from manufacturers like Fender, Godin, and others—users can tap into the amazing pitch-shifting power, COSM Guitar and Amp Modeling, and synthesis power of Roland’s GK-Ready gear. The VGA-7 V-Guitar Amplifier is a sophisticated yet easy-to-use digital guitar amp with acclaimed COSM Guitar Amp and Speaker Cabinet Modeling, high-quality digital effects, and Preset and User memories for convenient access to a range of incredible tones. Unlike other modeling amps, however, the breakthrough VGA-7 amplifier takes a giant technological leap with COSM modeling of electric, acoustic, and hollow-bodied guitars; pickups with pickup placement; instant open, Nashville and user-defined tunings; incredible polyphonic pitch effects like the new “Digital Capo”; and even some inspiring and dynamic “guitar-meets-synth” sounds.
The VG-88 V-Guitar System is a floor-based guitar processing and modeling system which provides unprecedented access to the most popular guitar and amplifier sounds in music history, as well as some very unique synth-type sounds which retain all of a guitarist’s natural playing dynamics and expressive nuances. Some of the VG-88’s standout sounds and features include nylon string guitar, brass sounds, incredible polyphonic and additional guitar-oriented effects, natural tube and overdriven amp sounds, a direct 1/4"" guitar input, an onboard expression pedal and more.
The GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer is a floor-based guitar synth which greatly expands the range and quality of sounds currently available to guitar players thanks to its powerful sound engine, new effects, amazing tracking speed and enhanced user interface. At the heart of this amazing GK-Ready guitar synth is a sound source equivalent to Roland’s venerable JV-1080 synthesizer module, capable of producing realistic strings, fat analog synths, bass sounds, nylon-string guitar, choirs, jazz scat, and even sound effects—all from a standard steel-string guitar and the optional GK-2A pickup.
Both the VG-88 V-Guitar System and GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer are currently shipping. The VG-88 V-Guitar Amplifier will be available later this year.
