Gibson Historic 1958 Les Paul Plain Top Electric Guitar
In an effort to jump start the steadily declining sales of the Les Paul Model, Gibson decided to abandon the familiar gold finish and use a translucent, cherry sunburst finish which would show off the highly figured maple tops that were often used on Les Pauls. The renamed Les Paul Standard made its debut in 1958.

• include an early '50s rounded neck with a 22-fret Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Burstbucker humbuckers, an ABR-1 bridge with an aluminum stopbar, vintage tulip tuners and a Custom Shop case.
