Hohner OSC Archtop TB I and TB II Electric GuitarsHohner displayed 4 new Electric models with a focus on quality and world class features that will appeal to intermediate and advanced guitarists. Hohner's new electrics all share quality components including Grover tuning pegs, premium potentiometers and hardware and feature Tesla pickups.“We are very excited about launching these new models and elevating Hohner electric guitars to another level of performance. In particular the new Telsa pickups we are using are incredible sounding pickups with great performance and bullet proof construction,” according to Ben North, Fretted Instruments Sales & Marketing Manager for Hohner/HSS. The new line up includes two families as follows: Both the OSC and OSC Archtop models feature lightweight ash bodies, bolt on maple necks and are available in 2 configurations. The OSC model features a single cutaway lightweight Ash solid body in a 3 single coil arrangement with Telsa VR1 pickups. The VR1 Tesla's have a rich classic single coil tone with strong output but are still very responsive to player input with great dynamics. Bolt on Maple neck and fingerboard with Grover machines and titanium finished hardware throughout. This is a straightforward no-nonsense player's guitar. The combination of the lightweight Ash body and the 3 incredibly dynamic Tesla pickups offers up a guitar that performs well in all styles and genres of playing. The OSC Archtop is the sister guitar to the OSC with similar features but includes an arched flame maple top and rosewood fretboard. The OSC archtop is available in a single Humbucker 2 single coil arrangement, or dual humbucker with 1 single coil.The Tesla pickups are VR1 single coils and the humbucker is the Telsa Plasma model. The Tesla Plasma humbucker is very high output but with a very even balance of tone and harmonics. This offers the player that wants a little more range and a humbucking arrangement a solution with the good looks of a figured maple top. The combination of the maple top on the ash body and the rosewood fretboard provides a nice balanced tone with a little more top end and mid range than the OSC. The TB I & TB II models feature double cutaway premium mahogany bodies with set neck style construction and are available in 2 configurations. The TB I features a solid double cutaway select mahogany body with mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. Grover machines with black chrome hardware throughout. Dual high outputTesla Plasma humbuckers combined with the mahogany body gives the TB I a huge sound, tons of low end with very punchy midrange and great sustain. The neck is premium mahogany with a profile that is extremely fast and comfortable. The oversized frets are polished and leveled and give the player an amazingly smooth playing experience right out of the box. The TB II shares the same features as the TB I with the addition of an arched flame maple top. The Tesla Plasma II humbuckers are slightly lower output and equipped with chrome covers. The addition of the maple top and the string thru body design give the TB II a broader tonal range and excellent sustain. + Post comment/question/reply
