Mackie d.2 DJ Scratch MixerMackie unveiled for the first time in the UK, their first entry into the DJ mixer market, the Mackie d.2; a 2-channel scratch mixer featuring celebrated Mackie-built mic pres and the world’s first DJ mixer FireWire option card for playback and recording via a Mac or PC computer.Following Mackie’s long-standing history of groundbreaking audio products, the d.2 is Mackie’s first foray directly into the DJ market. This revolutionary 2-channel mixer is built upon intelligent ergonomics, bulletproof construction, premium analog VCA circuitry, and ultra high-performance components – including an Infinium optical crossfader. The d.2 features legendary Mackie-designed mic and turntable preamps, 3-position spring-loaded transform switches, smooth analog EQ with blue backlit knobs and plenty of headroom for a wide, open "analog" sound. Most notably, the d.2 is the first DJ mixer with optional FireWire connectivity, letting DJs mix in mp3 files directly from a Mac or PC laptop, or record DJ sets directly to their computers. The d.Series FireWire I/O card installs in seconds and allows users a direct digital audio interface with their computer. The d.Series FireWire option card is compatible with such popular applications as Traktor, Live, Serato, PCDJ, Mix Vibes, Tracktion, Garage Band, iTunes and Windows Media Player. "The Mackie d.2 is the most solid DJ mixer that I’ve ever used," commented DJ Tone, a top club DJ and radio personality. "It’s so simple and comfortable to use, and I can easily say that the d.2 produces the best sounding mix compared to anything I’ve ever heard." The new d.2 DJ Mixer and d.Series FireWire option card are currently on display at the PLASA show at Earl’s Court in London, UK September 11 -14, 2005, Mackie stand J48.
