Final Mix professional stereo mastering plug-in for Mackie D8B
Mackie announced the addition of two new plug-ins for their Digital 8•Bus Recording Console. The new Final Mix and DSR-1 are the latest additions to a growing family of 24-bit plug-ins specifically designed for the Mackie Real Time OS 3.0 and Mackie Universal Effects (UFX) card.

Final Mix is an astonishing new development from Acuma Labs, one of Mackie’s software development teams, that brings unprecedented real-time mastering capabilities for the Mackie D8B. A professional stereo mastering plug-in, it offers multi-band compression, six band (pre and post) parametric EQs and editable key and crossover points—Final Mix is a must-have for virtually any application.
The six-band parametric (pre-dynamics) and a six-band parametric (post dynamics) equalizer visually portrays a mix using colored balls that can be easily edited on the drag and drop screen to create precise EQ curves. Additionally, Final Mix offers three separate dynamics processors, (one for each band), with individual threshold, attack and release times that can be applied to any section of a recording to craft a robust sound or to correct a sonic problem. From the top level, a third window represents compressor keying and crossover band points using familiar edit nodes that can be dragged from the left or right of the screen to adjust compression levels.
Movable key filters allow a user to “zero in” on specific frequencies to manipulate key gain, frequency centers, and bandwidth of a selected point. Crossover slopes and frequencies are effortless to edit as preset options can be easily altered from the numeric windows.
