IK Multimedia SampleTank 1.1Following the success of SampleTank VST Sound Module, Italian music software developer IK Multimedia is pleased to announce the availability of the new 1.1 version.SampleTank is the first professional software sound module which combines a powerful synth/sampler engine and high quality multi-sampled sounds into a VSTi instrument. Amongst the powerful new features included in the 1.1 version are: 1. NEW G4 Altivec optimization (Mac) SampleTank is now optimised for the G4 processor and boasts a performance that is almost double that of the previous release. On a G4 533 SampleTank will achieve a maximum of 128 polyphony notes and more than 90 notes in the new High Quality mode. 2. NEW Dual Processor support The new SampleTank 1.1 now fully supports a dual processor architecture, both in Windows® 2000 (and NT) and Mac OS®. Advanced MP (multiprocessor) modes in both Cubase VST® and LogicT can now be enabled, achieving an unprecedented level of power. 3. NOW DJ and L version can play all SampleTank sounds With the imminent release of additional IK and third party instrument and sound sets, the previous restriction of the 1.0 DJ and L version playing only the included sounds has been lifted. By updating to version 1.1 DJ and L users will be able to play all the sounds available in SampleTank format. 4. NEW, selectable, high quality resampling/repitching engine (High-Quality mode) The new SampleTank 1.1 now offers two selectable play modes for its sampling engine: - High Performance: this is equivalent to the play mode available in version 1.0, offering the highest performance of 128 notes polyphony on the current generation of computers. - High Quality: this is a new mode which allows for an even better sounding engine, we believe this is probably the best available on the market today. The new algorithm provides a very flat frequency response at the high end (not very common in digital samplers, either hardware or software types) and, even more importantly, a very low, almost immeasurable, aliasing noise. In musical terms this delivers a more "open" and "focused" sound that means single tracks blend better together, resulting in more detailed and musical mixes. 5. A, B, C, D parameters implemented in the Akai® conversion utility The new v1.1 ST converter automatically creates a set of user controllers for the converted instruments. The parameters converted and assigned to the A, B, C and D controls are: A: Attack - B: Release - C: Cutoff - D: Tuning This gives the ability to easily tweak these parameters of the AKAI® program.
