checking and testing your Monitor room

Even if you don’t have a perfect monitor system, or perfect acoustics it is still possible to create great recordings, master or mix in your monitoring room. You can do calculations, try to figure out the problem frequencies, room modes and everything else that can cause you headaches if you start thinking about it. But in the end it comes down to being able to work with a monitor system and know what the problems are, because if you don’t design a studio from the ground up it will not be perfect.

Before you can solve any problems or live with them you must find them. Although calculations provide a good starting point they don’t give you the answers. Testing your system and room however do give you the information that you need.
