Universal Audio Celebrity Autographed 1000 2-610 Microphone Preamp
Universal Audio, a manufacturer of high-quality vintage audio hardware and DSP software plug-ins for digital audio workstations, presented chief analog designer, John Hinson with the one thousandth 2-610 stereo tube microphone and instrument preamplifier to manufactured at the company headquarters. The unit, which was presented at a company event celebrating record sales in the second quarter of 2002, was autographed by celebrity 2-610 customers including Peter Frampton, who is currently working on a new album, Peter Wade and Bruce Swedien, who respectively are producing and engineering Jennifer Lopez's next release, Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stone engineer/producer Andy Johns, singer/songwriter Ben Folds and bassist/producer Jack Cassidy.
"John's clever design and attention to detail, yeilded a terrific sounding product," Universal Audio co-founder Bill Putnam Jr. remarked as he made the presentation, "It's no surprise that we've reached this one thousand unit milestone so quickly."In accepting the unit, John thanked the other members of the 2-610 design team as well as the desiginer of the original 610 console, on which the 2-610 is based, the late Bill Putnam Sr. "for providing a design framework and sonic standard for me to work from.
