Mics are the heart and soul of the recording studio. You can have all the tricky outboard gear you can find, all the latest hard disk doodads and gizmos, but if your mics are weak, your tracks are going to be weak. So when A-T can sell a real-deal studio mic at close to half price, you should probably pay attention. The AT4050CM5 is a high-line capacitor mic from Audio Technica that will put a warm finish on your vocal recordings that you never thought your studio could have. Ditto for acoustic guitars, horns, woodwinds you get the picture. The switchable patterns let you use it for a single vocalist, or two, or a bunch of folks standing around it. The large-diaphragm design gives extended frequency response, and the symmetrical, direct-coupled electronics allow excellent transient response and low distortion. If you're an artist with a home studio, or semi-pro, or even pro and you don't understand the technical-ese in the specs that follow this description, then know this: This mic will make your tracks sound better. If you're recording live, it will make your recordings better.
