Vocal Ranges: finding your vocal range for Singing
One of the first things you need to know when you want to start doing exercises is your vocal range. The problem is you don't know your range yet, and changes are that when you start singing your vocal range will change a little from where you started out. For first-time singers the problem is that they are used to speaking in a different range than they sing at. It's also funny that Americans usually speak lower than they sing, and Europeans usually speak higher than they sing.
In the course different exercises are available for different ranges. In this chapter we want to explain what the vocal range is and how you can find your own vocal range.
In music there are a few standard vocal ranges that you might have heard about like Soprano, Mezzo Soprano, Alto or Contralto, Tenor, Baritone and Bass.
