Bryan Bryant wins John Lennon Songwriting Contest
Bryan Bryant has won numerous awards for performance and songwriting. His most recent achievement came from the John Lennon's Songwriting Contest. The world's largest and most acclaimed songwriting contest included judges such as Elton John, Enrique Iglesias, James Brown, Luther Vandross, Amy Grant, Carlos Santana, Liza Minelli, Mary J. Blige, plus many more prominent stars. Bryan Bryant was the grand prize winner in the electronic category with his self-produced song "Melting" that was partly recorded in his home studio in Houston and some vocal tracks from studio work he did in Germany earlier this year. Beyond the prestigious award, Bryan also received an EMI publishing deal, $7000 cash, and $5000 worth of Yamaha studio equipment. Bryan's song will now compete in a separate contest for $20,000 from Maxell. Bryan recently appeared on ABC's local affiliate and should appear this next month on UPN's morning show. Bryan is interested in working with artist management, promoters, media, and others in the music industry. The John Lennon Songwriting Contest is an international songwriting contest where people compete from all over the world. The contest began in 1997 and is a joint venture of Yamaha Corporation of America's Pro Audio & Combo Division and DAS Ventures, Ltd. of New York, dedicated to promoting the art of songwriting and the discovery of new talent. The contest is run in agreement with Yoko Ono and the Estate of John Lennon.
