Rhyming is an excellent technique for creating strong lyrics and songs. Any songwriter uses it. Songwriting is not just using rhyme. You are trying to tell a story or send a message out into the world. Sometimes rhyme is a good way to do that, but it certainly is not the only way, and sometimes not even the best way.
