Singing Harmony Exercises: M2 Harmonies
Learning to sing harmonies means you have to do some serious exercises to be able to hear and sing intervals.
In the next exercises you will hear and see a single note voice line and hear a second harmonized voice singing a Major 2nd interval higher. You can adjust the volumes for each voice by setting the values under 1 and 2. 1 controls the main voice and 2 the second voice.
First practice the 1st voice and set the 2nd voice to zero or at least low.
If you don't have trouble singing with the lower of the 2 voices you can leave it at full volume.
Next try the 2nd voice, either with the first voice or without it.
If you can do this then try to set the volumes of the voice to a level where you have trouble singing with the 2nd voice. Set the level of the 2nd voice as low as possible. So you really have to sing yourself.
Next try it without the 2nd voice!
Trick: If you can do it try singing the first voice when you only hear the 2nd voice. Although we have not covered singing lower voices for creating harmony. This is an excellent exercise to practice this interval.
