SLS Loudspeakers provides Sound Solution for Association for Jazz Education
SLS Loudspeakers will provide the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) with a sound solution in audio support during the organization’s 34th Annual Conference, to be held at the Hilton and Sheraton New York Hotels between January 10th and January 13th. This year’s four-day show celebrating jazz will be outfitted with an elaborate SLS line-up comprised of 52 SLS RLA/2s, 48 SLS RLA/3s, approximately 10 SLS FF2605s and several SLS LSB8115 subwoofers.
After receiving rave reviews from conference-goers on last year’s usage of SLS within four rooms, IAJE will boost its SLS repertoire to at least six venues for 2007, including performance and interactive jazz discussion rooms. Ian Hunt, vice president of Chicago Sound, tabbed SLS as the ideal system to offer ample audio coverage for an event of this magnitude — an estimated 8,000 educators, musicians, industry executives, media and students from 45 countries are slated to attend.
“With more than 200 of the world’s most respected professional jazz groups and musicians performing in two hotels, each housing different rooms of various size and acoustical composition, versatility and portability was key,” says Hunt. “SLS’ small size and light weight provides much more flexibility for transporting and positioning compared to other products on the market. In addition, using SLS’ well controlled coverage patterns and ribbon tweeter technology enables us to achieve proper audio distribution.”
Hunt, who became an avid SLS user and installer after discovering its products two-years ago, adds that SLS presents the best of both worlds in regard to size and quality, offering convenience through its compact design while packing a powerful and impressive punch in sound dispersion. He explains, “This annual global event attracts a discerning crowd of jazz enthusiasts who are highly in-tune to sound quality. However, they are all attending venues that require musicians to perform in close proximity to the audience, posing a greater risk for unsavory audio feedback. SLS’ low distortion and high clarity capabilities work perfectly to adhere to the event’s intimate settings and to capture the vast acoustic instruments and largely diverse colors and textures associated with this genre of music.”
